

Before heading west Jon played roles on some of Washington DC's most prominent stages. He is pleased to have performed in many of DC's new play festivals including the Kennedy Center's Page-To-Stage, new play workshops at Arena Stage, the Washington Theatre Festival at Source Theatre, and Theater of the First Amendment's First Light play development program. Jon is a founding company member of Project Y Theatre Company, an artistic associate of Charter Theatre, a two-time veteran of the classical touring company National Players, and a former member of the Shakespearean outreach troupe in residence at the Folger Theatre. He is a card-carrying member of Actors' Equity Association and The Screen Actors Guild and a proud recipient of the Theatre Lobby's Mary Goldwater Award for Excellence in Acting as well as a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Resident Play. Locally, he has been seen in Mutineer's debut production of Lie With Me as well as productions of Crave, Bent, several original plays, and assorted film projects. In addition to acting, Jon directed Mutineer's world premiere productions of Ditch by Taylor Coffman, Shaked & Speared: The Afterplays by Taylor Coffman, Jon Cohn, and James Utt, The Woodpecker by Samuel Brett Williams, and the co-production of Lie with Me by Keith Bridges at Charter Theater in Washington, DC. He has directed classical and contemporary theatre on the professional, collegiate, and high school levels, writes, teaches classes and workshops, and has composed music for several original plays.
Offstage, Jon is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the Proteus Syndrome Foundation and to work as the Forum Producer for 89.3 KPCC, Southern California Public Radio.
As the founding Artistic Director of Mutineer Theatre Company, Jon looks forward to establishing MTC as a valued resource for the development of new work and experimental collaboration, a voice for the communities in which we live, and a nomadic home for live theatrical experiences that seek to challenge the audience.
